Brown handed Hull backing

Hull City chairman Paul Duffen says the club are firmly behind manager Phil Brown.



After a remarkable start to their debut season in the Barclays Premier League, the Tigers have severely struggled for form since the autumn.

And on Monday evening, Newcastle United's win over Middlesbrough saw Hull slip into the relegation zone for the first time this campaign.

Duffen concedes the team have 'lost their mojo' but is sure Brown will guide them to safety, with two matches remaining.

He said: "Why would we change anything? We're enjoying the best period in the club's history for 105 years.

"The board, the management, the staff and the players are all on the same journey.

"There is absolutely no reason why we would want to change that, because it has been so successful, particularly the last two years since Phil has been there."

He continued: "It is the toughest league in the world and at the end of the season the number of points you have reflect how well you've done. The table never lies. We have lost our mojo a bit since the turn of the year.

"I still believe we can get, what I believe would be our just desserts for the way we started the season. It is now clearly out of our hands and that means our last two games are going to be a real rollercoaster.

"We've had the opportunity to keep it in our own hands and we have failed. But we are big boys and we take responsibility for that. If we get the right breaks, I think we will be OK. There is no shortage of fitness, commitment or unity at the football club. All we need is a bit of luck."
